2 company officials abducted in Mizoram

AIZAWL, June 8 � The Project Manager and the Commercial Manager of ABCI Infrastructure Pvt Ltd were kidnapped by armed miscreants yesterday from Mizoram.

Till the filing of this story the police and other search teams could not produce any clue regarding the whereabouts of the company officials.

According to Police, the reason for the abduction of the two company officials is unknown. Project Manager, Prem Lal Dhiman and Commercial Manager, Bajrang Lal Bhurgri were abducted by about 10 armed miscreants dressed in camouflage dress from their camp in Meidum, 109 km from here.

Police of the neighbouring states of Assam and Tripura have been alerted. The ABCI Company has been engaged by the State Government for widening the NH 154.

Meanwhile, the Mizo National Front party condemned the abduction and kidnapping of the two managers of ABCI by unidentified armed miscreants.

Myanmar nationals: The Mizoram Government has restricted the movement of Myanmar nationals to 16 km radius from the border following lifting of Protected Area Permit (PAP) by the Centre with effect from January this year.

All Myanmar nationals who are to go beyond 16 km radius into Mizoram have to get a permission from the Union Home Ministry, as per an official notification.

Meanwhile, the State Government has authorised the SP CID (SB) to act as Mizoram State Foreigners� Registration Officer. In the district level, the district SPs are authorised to act as District Foreigners� Registration Officer.

The foreign nationals entering into the State are to report to the District Foreigners� Registration Officer within 24 hours. Pakistan, China and Afghan nationals who enter into Mizoram are also to take permission from the Union Home Ministry, it notified.
