2 ATM cash loading staff sent to judicial custody

DIBRUGARH, Nov 30 - Two ATM cash loading staff, identified as Tarun Mohan and Ujjal Saikia of Cash Management Service (CMS) Info System, were sent to judicial custody today after one unidentified person decamped with Rs 12 lakh in cash recently while the duo had gone to feed cash into an Axis Bank ATM.

The two CMS staff went to the Axis Bank after collecting Rs 12 lakh from the United Bank of India (UBI) to feed the currencies into the ATMs. When both the cash loading staff were doing their technical work inside the Axis Bank ATM booth, an unidentified person escaped with Rs 12 lakh which they had earlier collected from the UBI.

The police have suspected that the theft was pre-planned.

Both the ATM cash loading staff had lodged an FIR with the Dibrugarh Sadar Police Station. They were arrested in connection with the case (no. 1439/17) under Section 392 of the IPC, the police informed.
