JORHAT, Dec 2: A Golaghat police team led by Officer-in-Charge of Golaghat Police Station Rupjyoti Dutta arrested two persons from Dimapur and recovered 10 smartphones, which were reportedly stolen by the duo from an electronics shop in Golaghat 10 days back.
Dutta told this newspaper that acting on specific information, the police team apprehended Jubel Hussain (24) and Jamir Ahmed (23) from Netaji Colony area of Dimapur and recovered the stolen smartphone handsets.
The police official said the arrested men were from two neighbouring villages under Badarpur Police Station in Karimganj district.
The duo are suspected to be part of an inter-state gang of criminals operating in districts along the Assam-Nagaland border.
