A joint team of police from Kohima and Dimapur yesterday arrested the duo from a hotel at Dimapur on charges of assaulting the Naga leaders inside a hotel here on May 9, police said.
Naga Hoho general secretary Chuba Ozukum, its joint secretary G Vashum and senior member of Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) Nepuni Piku were assaulted and seriously injured, triggering large-scale protests in the State.
Earlier, NSCN(K) said the outfit was in no way connected with the incident since it did not endorse anyone to act like this, and demanded arrest of the culprits.
Condemning the attack, Joint Working Group of NSCN(I-M), NSCN(K) and NNC/FGN, formed last year to strengthen the on-going Naga reconciliation process, also urged the authorities to immediately arrest the culprits.
