19th International Trade Fair opens today

GUWAHATI, Jan 31 � The Industries and Trade Fair Association of Assam (ITFAA) is all set to unfurl the 19th edition of International Guwahati Trade Fair (IGTF) at Maniram Dewan Trade Centre near Balaji Temple here tomorrow at a glittering ceremony at 3 pm where important national and international dignitaries will be present, stated a press release. Till February 14, the IGTF will become the venue for the �biggest showdown between companies from different parts of the world�.

Never before so many foreign countries have come together under the same umbrella in a trade exposition in Eastern India. For the first time Government undertaking companies from Afghanistan and UAE will be participating in any trade exposition in Northeast India.

With exquisite handicraft, jute and indigenous products, Bangladesh pavilion, the Thailand pavilion, International pavilion housing Egypt, Afghanistan, UAE, Ghana, Kenya, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Pakistan and many other countries, 19 IGTF will be the biggest-ever trade exposition being witnessed by the people of Northeast.

The NE Techmart Pavilion of National Small Industries Corporation Ltd (NSIC), Government of India, which has been winning the hearts of Guwahatians since the last so many years will host more than 100 units from across the country this year.

The ever-popular Amazing Thailand pavilion in Hall number 3 will host more than 30 Thai companies. The Thailand celebration will be organised in coordination with Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), Royal Thai Government.

The National Jute Board (NJB) pavilion will be another attraction in the fair.

The other important multinational companies who will take part in the fair in a big way are Panasonic, locks, security and appliance of Godrej MFG division, Sharp, Zuari, Borz Furniture, Caps, Bajoria Appliances, Faber, Masonite, Duckback, Samsonite and many other companies from across the country.

MPS (organic food stuff) pavilion in hall 2 will be another attraction in this year�s fair. Participation of State Bank of India as one of the major associates has enhanced the image of the fair. BEST Cement, Hotel Nandan and Servo are the other associates of 19th IGTF 2012.

An exclusive food court �Foodistan� will provide delicacies from Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata and other states of Northeast.
