9TH MILE (RI-BHOI), March 29 - Sixteen Vice Chancellors from Central, State, private universities as well as Directors of NITs from the North East will participate in the �International Convention of Vice Chancellors- 2019� to be held on April 6 at Sylhet in Bangladesh, a press release said.

The main purpose of the Convention is to share the scope of collaboration in teaching, research and innovation between the two countries. It has been organised by Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Sylhet under the patronage of University Grant Commission, Bangladesh in association with University of Science & Technology Meghalaya (USTM).

The Convention will be attended by 400 vice chancellors, directors, top researcher�s from both countries and will be graced by Dr Dipu Moni, Education Minister of Bangladesh and Prof A Mannan, UGC Chairman of Bangladesh.

The Convention is the outcome of a panel discussion on �Bilateral collaboration opportunities in the field of higher education between Bangladesh and North East� organised by USTM in association with High Commission Bangladesh at Guwahati in October last year.
