GAURIPUR, April 3 - The Dhubri District Election Officer has categorised 154 polling centres as very sensitive out of the total 945 polling centres comprising 23-Dhubri, 24-Gauripur and 25-Golakganj in Dhubri subdivision and 26-Bilasipara (East) and 27-Bilasipara (West) in Bilasipara subdivision. A total number of 413 polling centres have also been marked as sensitive while 378 are comparatively safe.
The police administration has also geared up preparations for free and fair polls in the entire district. Four armed policemen will be deployed in each polling centre. For the purpose of peaceful polling, the district has been divided into ten zones and ten zonal police officers have already been appointed. They will be assisted by 108 small contingents. Moreover, 47 additional companies of central forces have also been sought for the smooth conduction of polls scheduled to be held on April 11 next, informs the DIPRO, Dhubri.
