DIPHU, Dec 23 � Filing of nomination papers for the 11th KAAC elections concluded on Thursday evening. Scrutiny of the submitted nomination papers were completed today.
Altogether 150 nominations have been declared valid by the Returning Officer at Diphu. Altogether 2,99,284 male and 2,87,220 female voters will elect 26 candidates to the 26 MAC constituencies.
The People�s Alliance for Peace Agreement (PAPA) has fielded its candidates in 25 constituencies. The ruling Congress has fielded candidates for all the 26 constituencies. The CPI (ML) Liberation will fight in 19 seats, the BJP has fielded candidates for 15 seats and the newly formed Democratic People�s Front will contest in three seats.
