14th biennial session of Srimanta Sankardev Sangha concludes

NORTH LAKHIMPUR, Feb 5 - The 14th biennial session of Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardev Sangha concluded at Soneswar Patir Kshetra at Kachajuli at Laluk, Lakhimpur on Sunday. The three-day session began on February 1 with the inauguration of a delegates� camp by Durgeswar Deogharia, president of the organizing committee.

The medical camp was inaugurated by Tafazul Ali while the book fair was inaugurated by Mukti Taye, publicity secretary of the Sangha. The second day�s programme had a cultural summit which was inaugurated by Jagat Bania of Srimanta Sankardev Sangha (SSS). A bhaona titled �Matchya Avatar� was staged at the venue. The third day�s programme began with the hoisting of the flag by Kaluram Pegu, Padadhikar of Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardev Sangha.

A cultural procession was taken out on that day followed by an open session. The open session was chaired by Kaluram Pegu where Dilip Pegu, member of Mishing Autonomous Council attended as chief guest.
