SHILLONG, June 7 - East Khasi Hills district authority today clamped section 144 CrPC in the district from dusk to dawn following a spate of arson attacks. The order would come into effect immediately from 6 pm to 5 am everyday.
The order has been issued in view of the information received that �some anti-social elements are indulging in arson and various other anti-social activities creating law and order problem in the district.� Meanwhile, the Court has extended the police remand of KSU members who were arrested following the violence at Byrnihat recently in protest against railway lines in the State.
