MORIGAON, Aug 4 - Altogether 1, 30, 599 voters will exercise their franchise in 19 constituencies of Morigaon district in the forthcoming Tiwa Autonomous Council (TAC) polls to be held on August 19.
Disclosing this, the Returning Officer of the TAC elections as well as the DC (in-charge), Morigaon, Pranjit Gogoi said in a press conference that administrative arrangements are going on in full swing to smoothly conduct the elections in 189 polling stations in Morigaon district.
The district has been divided into 19 sectors, where one sector officer will look after all election issues in each sector. Addressing the press, Ainul Hoque, SP, Morigaon said that out of 189 polling stations, 20 are hyper sensitive, 72 are sensitive while 97 polling stations are comparatively safe. The SP further informed that an additional four companies of paramilitary forces will be detailed in Morigaon district for free and fair polls.
