127 Bru families slated to return on 2nd day

AIZAWL, April 18 � Around 127 Bru families were expected to return to Mizoram from Naisingpara relief camp in North Tripura district on the second day of the third phase of repatriation tomorrow, the General Secretary of the Bru Corrdination Committee Elvis Chorkhy said today.

Chorkhy said once they returned, the families would be resettled at Tumpanglui, Bunghmun and Sihthiang villages in Mamit district on the Mizoram-Tripura border.

Around 82 families have returned on April 12, the first day of the third phase of repatriation while around 140 families were expected to be brought back on the first day, official sources said.

The third phase of the repatriation was proposed to begin from April 8 earlier but could commence only from April 12, the sources said.� PTI
