NEW DELHI, Nov 9 - The sea around the Andaman and Nicobar archipelago has witnessed 12 earthquakes in 24 hours, with almost all measuring 5 and more on the Richter scale, but no tsunami alert has been issued.
The region yesterday saw nine quakes, of these, one was recorded in North Sumatra region in Indonesia while others have been recorded in and around the Andaman and Nicobar islands. All earthquakes were recorded at a depth of 10-60 kms. � PTI
