108 Service felicitates Meghalaya Health Minster

SHILLONG, March 26 - The 108 emergency service on Friday presented Meghalaya Health Minister AL Hek with a memento for his role as a good samaritan in which the Minister helped victims of an accident in New Delhi recently.

Hek was on his way to meet Union Health Minister Smriti Irani and witnessed an accident in which the car overturned injuring the victims of the car. Hek and his staff stopped their car and helped the victims and assisted them to reach the hospital.

Accepting the memento of appreciation from GVK EMRI 108 Meghalaya Head Deepankar Choudhury, Hek acknowledged the role of others accompanying him during the rescue operation.

Hek thanked Meghalaya House driver Anthony Pynrope who is an ex-GVK EMRI pilot trained in handling emergencies, Simon Kharsohtun, a law student of Delhi University and Basu Damini from Dimapur.
