This was stated by Director General of Assam Police Khagen Sarma while talking to media persons here today.

He said that a manhunt is on to nab the culprits which include hardcore NDFB(S) cadres like Rikha, believed to have led the Narayanguri/NK Khagrabari (Baksa) carnage.

The other cadres who are still on the run are Romila, Anon, Yakha, Laswi, Sizo, Fwler and Futhai, the DGP said.

So far three cases have been registered including two in Gobardhan police station (Baksa) and one in Balapara police station.

The State Government has already recommended probe by the National Investigation Agency although the latter is still awaiting nod from the Ministry of Home Affairs.
